Do you know what patients hate? Scratched glasses. You know what doctors and opticians hate? When patients hate their scratched glasses. But we’re up against a mountain here – studies show 77% of eyeglass wearers wipe their glasses with tissues or towels, and 1 in 3 admit to dropping their glasses at least once a week.1 Wouldn’t it be great if we had a lens that could stand up to this kind of abuse? Meet Crizal Rock No-Glare lenses, a new lens innovation designed to be more durable than ever before2. They are 3X more scratch-resistant than entry-level Crizal products3, and 2X easier to clean than their main competitors.4 We’re sitting down with Mr. Jeff Harrell, Vice President of Product Marketing at Essilor of America to learn more about this new lens must have!
Mr. Harrell breaks down the science behind Crizal Rock lenses and the research that was done to create a product that would stand up to the daily wear and tear, called “real life,” that patients put their glasses through. Creating superior products that will help reduce the financial impact of scratch remakes in our practices and the cost of time spent with unhappy patients with scratched glasses is a big priority for Mr. Harrell and his team. “At a minimum, when you talk about costs on remakes, there’s a cost on time,” he explains. “That could be time you spend with a patient educating about presbyopia [and explaining the best possible technology to solve their complaints]. When you lose that time, they might walk away with a substandard solution, and you don’t want that from a patient care standpoint.”
“Look at glasses like we do medical care,” Dr. Glover extolls on this podcast. “You’re doing a disservice [when you don’t prescribe the best eyewear solution] and that patient is going to suffer. You want to make sure that they can see better and live better, and you can do that with the tools at your fingertips.” For more information about how you can bring this incredible new technology to your practice go to essilorpro.com/crizal-rock or contact your Essilor Account Executive for more details!
