Gazal Eyewear is a modern day eyewear love story. Just a few minutes in to this podcast you’ll hear designer Gazal Tabrizipour gush about how her husband Saeed Andy Trabrizipour helped her follow her dreams of designing eyewear by investing years of research and time to bring their luxury collection to market. Their frames a are a true labor of love, designed by Gazal who grew up in the optical industry with a focus on wearability and quality. Function with fashion. They scouted out the best materials to achieve her design aesthetic over years, and eventually chose to have their frames manufactured in Japan due to their top quality titanium and focus on details. Their new line, Wicked, is a showcase of their design aesthetic. Frames that feel weightless but aren’t light on impact.
This year they’ve also been turning heads with the launch of their newly opened flagship optical in Roswell, Georgia. The photos are like an eye nerd’s version of heaven: bright white interiors, ethereal blues and grays, and gloriously decadent sliding exam room doors.
Gazal and Andy are based out of Georgia, where she also works on the set of The Walking Dead. Every zombie in the show wears shockingly realistic scleral contact lenses that are hand painted in California. Gazal got her start as a show business contact lens tech on the set of Teen Wolf, and that experience propelled her into one of the most popular shows on TV. Check out this YouTube video of her work if you’re interested in learning more about what it’s like to be a contact lens tech on set!
With their focus on detail, function and purpose in their designs, Gazal Eyewear is quickly gaining national recognition as an independent American luxury line. If you’re interested in learning more about their product, check them out here:
