Tara Mahvelati is a third-year optometry student at SUNY College of Optometry. She is originally from Montreal, Canada and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Concordia and her Master’s of Science at the University of Sherbrooke. She is the president of SUNY’s Canadian Association of Optometry Student and an active board member of the SUNY’s Private Practice and the Contact Lens Club. Tara is also a member of the Optical Women’s Association, where she is part of the membership committee chair.
Jess Capri is a third-year optometry student from the Illinois College of Optometry. She is originally from Massachusetts, attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Jess is the president of the ICO Private Practice Club and Sports Vision Club and has a strong interest in low vision rehabilitation, vision therapy, private practice and writing.
Fayiz Mahgoub is a fourth-year Optometry student with interests in Vision Therapy, Neuro-Optometry and Specialty Contact Lenses. As a first-year student, Fayiz served as president of his university’s COVD and NORA clubs. He then went on to establish a contact lens club and as well as a sports vision club at Western University College of Optometry. Fayiz has also served as National President of the National Optometric Student Association (NOSA).
